Violent Pornography Incites Sexually Motivated Murders (part six)

55) Peter Madsen

Kim Wall was an established, freelance journalist who had travelled the world from her home in Sweden.
She had been chasing an interview with Danish inventor Peter Madsen for several months and had little hesitation in taking up his invitation for a trip on his home-made submarine off Copenhagen on a sunny evening last summer.
It was 19:00 on 10 August when she boarded the UC3 Nautilus and in the final photos taken from a passing ship some 90 minutes later she was smiling and looked relaxed in the sub's conning tower.
"I'm still alive btw," she texted her partner. "But I'm going down now. I love you! He brought coffee and cookies tho."
It was the last message she sent from the vessel. Ole repeatedly texted back and raised the alarm after midnight.
Her mutilated torso was discovered on a beach by a passing cyclist on 21 August. Her head, legs and clothing were found by police divers on 6 October.
images "which we presume to be real" found on a hard drive believed to belong to Mr Madsen showed women being tortured, decapitated, burned and being decapitated alive
An autopsy discovered two dozen knife wounds to Ms Wall's genitals and ribcage, which are believed to have been caused "around or shortly after her death".

56) Jerry Brudos

Jerry Brudos had a fetish for women's shoes from the age of five, after playing with spike-heeled shoes at a local junk-yard. He reportedly attempted to steal the shoes of his first grade teacher. Brudos had a fetish for women's underwear and claimed that he would steal underwear from female neighbours as a child. He spent his teen years in and out of psychotherapy and psychiatric hospitals. He began to stalk local women as a teenager, knocking down or choking them unconscious, and fleeing with their shoes.

[Excerpt from Ann Rules book 'Lust killer' stating his early pornography use]

Jerry had access to his older brothers pornography mags

At age 17, he abducted and beat a young woman, threatening to stab her if she did not follow his sexual demands.  He also ordered her to take off all of her clothes so he could photograph her naked. The entire incident took place in a hole he dug into the side of a hill for the purpose of “keeping sex slaves.” Shortly after being arrested, he was taken to a psychiatric ward of Oregon State Hospital for nine months. There it was found his sexual fantasies revolved around his hatred and revenge against his mother and women in general. He underwent a psychiatric evaluation, and was diagnosed with schizophrenia. Despite being institutionalized, he graduated from high school with his class in 1957. Shortly after graduation, Brudos became an electronics technician.
In 1961, he married a 17-year-old girl with whom he would father two children, and settled in a Salem, Oregon suburb. He asked his new bride to do housework naked except for a pair of high heels while he took pictures. It was at about this time that he began complaining of migraine headaches and "blackouts," relieving his symptoms with night-prowling raids to steal shoes and lace undergarments. He kept the shoes, underwear, and (for a time) the bodies of his victims in a garage that he would not allow his wife to enter without first announcing her arrival on an intercom that Brudos had set up.

Apart from pornography being an important fantasy aid for Brudos; Making his own pornography was an additional form of control, domination and ownership over all women, that included his wife and his victims.

Murders and incarceration

Between 1968 and 1969, Brudos bludgeoned and strangled four young women and attempted to attack two others:
  • Linda Slawson, 19, a door-to-door encyclopedia saleswoman who knocked on Brudos's door in January 1968. Brudos lured her to the garage while his wife and children were in the house, knocked her out with a wooden plank, and strangled her. He dressed her in different female undergarments and shoes he had stolen, arranged her body in provocative poses, and used a hacksaw to cut off her left foot, which he kept in the freezer and used to model his collection of high-heel shoes. He disposed of the body in the Willamette River.
  • Karen Sprinker, 19, abducted at gunpoint from a parking lot outside a department store in May 1968. Brudos was dressed in women's clothes during this attack. He brought her to his garage, made her try on his collection of undergarments and pose while he photographed her, raped her, and strangled her by hanging her by her neck from a pulley. He had sex with the body on several occasions and cut off her breasts to make plastic molds. Afterward, he tied the body to a 6-cylinder car engine with nylon cord and threw it in the Willamette.
  • Jan Susan Whitney, 23, a motorist whose car broke down on Interstate 5 between Salem and Albany, Oregon on November 26, 1968. Brudos offered to drive her to his home with the excuse of letting her call a tow truck there. While still in the car, he strangled her with a leather strap and raped her post-mortem. He kept the body hanging from the pulley in his garage for several days, during which he dressed, photographed, and had sex with it. This time, Brudos cut off one of her breasts and made a resin mold of it that he used as a paperweight. Afterward he tied the body to a piece of railroad iron and threw it in the Willamette along with Slawson's foot, which had rotted.
  • Sharon Wood, 24, attempted to abduct at gunpoint from the basement floor of a parking garage in Portland on April 21, 1969.
  • Gloria Gene Smith, 15, attempted to abduct on April 22, 1969.
  • Linda Salee, 22, abducted from a shopping mall parking lot on April 23, 1969. Brudos brought her to his garage where he raped and strangled her, and played with her corpse. He decided to not cut her breasts off because they were "too pink," and instead drove an electrical current through the body in an attempt to make it "jump," which failed. Afterward, he tied the body to a car transmission with a nylon cord and threw it in the Willamette.

Brudos would dress up in high heels and masturbate after committing a murder. In May 1969, a fisherman found the bodies of Salee and Sprinker in the Long Tom River. The police asked students at a nearby university campus about suspicious men and one led them to Brudos, who had phoned her several times to ask her for a date. Brudos gave police a false address, which increased their suspicions. At his garage, the police found copper wire that was determined to have been cut with the same tool that cut the cords used to tie the bodies. Brudos was arrested and he made a full confession. On June 28, 1969 Brudos plead guilty to three first-degree murders (Sprinker, Whitney and Salee's) and was sentenced to three consecutive terms of life imprisonment in Oregon State Penitentiary. Though he confessed to Slawson's murder, Brudos was neither tried nor convicted for it because he didn't make and keep photographs of the body, unlike in the other cases, but only of her foot. Whitney's body was found a month after Brudos' conviction, about a mile downstream from where he said he had thrown it.
While incarcerated, Brudos had piles of women's shoe catalogues in his cell — he wrote to major companies asking for them — and claimed they were his substitute for pornography. He lodged countless appeals, including one in which he alleged that a photograph taken of him with one of his victim's corpses could not prove his guilt, because it was not the body of a person he was convicted of killing. In 1995, the parole board told Brudos that he would never be released. Brudos died in prison on March 28, 2006 from liver cancer.

57) Harvey Glatman

Born in the Bronx to a Jewish family and raised in Colorado, Glatman exhibited antisocial behaviour and sadomasochistic sexual tendencies from an early age. At the age of four, Harvey was committing a crude form of sado-masochism (he tied a string
around his penis and placed the loose end in a drawer and then leaned
back against the string.) As he grew, one of his favourite games was tying a rope around his neck, looping the free end over a pipe or rafter and yanking the rope with one hand while
masturbating with the other. When he was eleven years old, his parents noticed that he had a red, swollen neck. He described having been in the bathtub, placing a rope around his neck, running it through the tub drain, and pulling it tight against his neck," achieving some kind of sexual pleasure from this act." His mother took him to the family physician and was told 'he would grow out of it'.

Glatman moved to Los Angeles, California in 1957 and started strolling around modelling agencies looking for potential victims. He would contact them with offers of work for pulp fiction magazines, such as 'True detective'  take them back to his apartment, tie them up and sexually assault them, taking pictures all the while. He would then strangle them and dump the bodies in the desert.

His two known model victims were Judith Dull and Ruth Mercado. A third victim, Shirley Ann Bridgeford, was met through a Lonely Hearts ad in the newspaper.
Glatman also is a suspect in the slaying of "Boulder Jane Doe," a victim whose corpse was discovered by hikers near Boulder, Colorado in 1954. Her identity remained a mystery for 55 years. In October 2009, the Sheriff’s Office was notified by Dr. Terry Melton, of Mitotyping Technologies in State College, Pennsylvania that her lab had made a match between the Jane Doe's DNA profile and that of a woman who thought the unidentified murder victim might be her long-lost sister. The positive identification of "Boulder Jane Doe" was an 18-year-old woman from Phoenix, Arizona named Dorothy Gay Howard.
The following images are extracts from Harvey Glatman on murderpedia

The following images are of Glatman's actual photographs of his victims, just prior to raping and murdering them.

Harvey Glatman was a sexually sadistic psychopath, who hated women because they were repulsed by him, rejected him and laughed at him during his youth. Incited by rejection, hate, anger and bondage pornography; He made his own pornography that depicted his actual strangulation and death of his victims. He posed and photographed them, both before and after death; So he could continue to be aroused by and masturbate to. This combination of sexual sadism, violent fantasies and hatred of women, culminated into the ultimate control, domination and power over a woman's life.

58) Stephen Griffiths

Crossbow cannibal serial killer: Stephen Griffiths admits murdering three prostitutes

A PhD student calling himself the Crossbow Cannibal has admitted the serial killings of three prostitutes he lured to his flat on the edge of Bradford’s red-light district.

Stephen Griffiths pleaded guilty to murdering Suzanne Blamires, 36, by firing a crossbow bolt into her head when she tried to run away from him in May this year.
He also admitted murdering Shelley Armitage, 31, and Susan Rushworth, 43, but police believe he might also be responsible for three unsolved murders after he indicated in an interview that he had killed six women in total.
He claimed he had cooked and eaten parts of his first two victims, boiling one in a pot, and ate the third one raw.
He pleaded guilty to three counts of murder at Leeds Crown Court this morning. He stood in the dock to enter his pleas surrounded by five security guards.
Dressed in a grey tracksuit, he said "yes" when asked to confirm his name. He then said "guilty" in a quiet voice when the clerk put each of the three charges to him. Griffiths then sat with his head on his chest.
Griffiths’ macabre crimes were uncovered after a security guard checked silent CCTV footage from the third-floor corridor in the flat where he lived during a routine check for any evidence of petty crimes.
It showed Griffiths firing a bolt into his last victim’s head, before “toasting” the death by raising a can of drink to the CCTV camera.
Griffiths videoed another of the killings on his mobile phone, the Daily Telegraph has learnt.
He had lost it on a train, someone had picked it up and it had twice been sold on before it was traced by police.
Still on it was video footage which one senior detective described as the most disturbing he has ever seen.
It showed a dead woman thought to be Miss Armitage, naked in a bath and also “hog-tied” on cushions with her hands tied behind her. She had been sprayed with black paint with the words “My Sex Slave” on her back.
Griffiths gave a running commentary saying: “I am Ven Pariah, I am the Bloodbath Artist. Here’s a model who is assisting me.”

It allowed police to establish that Miss Armitage must have died before 1am on April 28. A small piece of her spine was found in the same stretch of river as Miss Blamires’ remains were found.
The only evidence relating to Miss Rushworth, who is thought to have been killed with a hammer, is a trace of blood found in Griffiths’ bathroom.
Griffiths was arrested by armed police immediately after they were alerted to the CCTV recording showing Miss Blamires’ death at the block of housing association flats in Holmfield Court, Bradford, in May.

It showed Griffiths walking into his one-bedroom flat with Miss Blamires, who worked locally as a prostitute. Within minutes she ran out and he gave chase, armed with a crossbow, before felling her and firing a bolt into her head.
Griffiths then turned to the camera and held the crossbow aloft in both hands in triumph before dragging the body out of view.
He re-emerged with the drink can which he showed in a celebratory way to the camera while putting one finger in the air and is later seen carrying bin bags and a rucksack in and out.

The previous night he had written on his MySpace social networking page, under the unexplained pseudonym Ven Pariah, that he had “finally emerged into the world”.
Griffiths wrote: “What will this pseudo-human do, one wonders. Poor Stephen, pretended to be me, but he was only the wrapping.
“He knew towards the end, that I supplied the inner core of iron. Hatred Bound Tightly In Flesh. At very long last, the time has come to act out.”
When his flat was searched, two crossbows and bolts were recovered from the flat, along with books on serial killers, and attempts made to clean-up with carpets lifted and tiled removed around the bath.
The next day a member of the public discovered female body parts, including a head in a rucksack, in the River Aire five miles away in Shipley.
They were identified as those of Miss Blamires, the third prostitute to be reported missing in the area within 11 months.
Also found nearby was a “killer’s kitbag”, a case containing hacksaws and knives which could be used to dismember bodies.

I find the 'Narcissism' extremely apparent in these two images of Stephen Griffiths.

Stephen Griffiths is a sexually sadistic psychopath and narcissist who hates women.
He was sexually violent with prostitutes and possessed violent pornography, of which he gained pleasure in showing Lisa Thompson; who reacted by vomiting. As with all these murderers of women, their misogyny is reinforced by sexually violent pornography, which consists of the rape, torture, degradation, humiliation and subordination of women.
An excerpt from Necrophilic serial killers, which states that Griffith tortured animals, had abusive relationships with women, and was obsessed with violent pornography that featured torture and rape.

59)Anthony Hardy

Anthony John Hardy (born May 31, 1951) is an English serial killer who was convicted of murdering three women in London.

Early life

Born on 31 May 1951 in Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire, Anthony Hardy had an apparently uneventful childhood and excelled in school and college, particularly in engineering.

He married and fathered two sons and two daughters, but his wife divorced him in 1986, accusing him of domestic violence. In 1982 Hardy had been arrested for trying to drown his wife but the charges were later dropped.

After the divorce, Hardy spent time in mental hospitals, diagnosed with depression. He lived in various hostels in London, picking up convictions for theft and being drunk and disorderly. He was arrested in 1998 when a prostitute accused him of raping her, but the charges were dropped due to lack of evidence.

Murders

In January 2002, police were called to the block of flats that Hardy lived in after a neighbour complained that someone had vandalised her front door and that she strongly suspected Hardy. When the police investigated Hardy's flat they found a locked door, and despite his original claims to the contrary, police found that Hardy had a key. Investigating the room, the police found the body of a dead woman lying on a bed. She was identified as Sally White, 38, Hardy's flatmate.

A coroner subsequently determined that White had died of a heart attack, even though she was found naked in a locked room with cuts and bruises to her head.

Hardy spent a short time in jail for the vandalism offence then released.
On December 30, 2002, a homeless man hunting for food in some bins found some of the dismembered remains of two women found stuffed in bin-liners. The victims were identified as Bridgette MacClennan, 34, and Elizabeth Valad, 29.

Victims Bridgette MacClennan & Elizabeth Valad

Victim Sally White

Arrest and trial

The investigation lead to Anthony Hardy, who was arrested a week later. He had gone on the run but been spotted by an off-duty policemen when he went to a hospital to collect his prescription for psychiatric drugs. A search of his flat found that there was evidence, including old bloodstains, that indicated the two women had been killed and dismembered there. Both had died over the Christmas holidays.

Under arrest, Hardy simply said "No comment" to every question put to him by police. He was eventually charged with the murders of both MacClennan and Valad, as well as that of Sally White, the woman whose death had originally been put down to natural causes.

At his trial in November 2003, Hardy, despite his initial lack of cooperation with the police, abruptly changed his plea to guilty to all three counts of murder. The 52-year-old was then given three life sentences.

Because of Hardy's history of psychiatric problems and violent behaviour, an independent enquiry was announced into his care.
Anthony Hardy

Police have been reported to believe that Hardy was likely to be connected to the unsolved cases of two prostitutes found dismembered and dumped in the Thames, and up to five or six other area murders that bore marked similarities to the ones for which he was convicted, but there is not enough evidence available directly implicating him in the murders for further action.

In May 2010, a High Court judge decided that Hardy should never be released from prison, placing him on the list of Whole life tariff prisoners.

Gillian Meagher was a 29-year-old Irish woman living in Australia who was raped and murdered while walking home from a pub in Brunswick, an inner suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, in the early hours of 22 September 2012.
Meagher's case was initially classified that of a missing person, as she had failed to return home to her husband, Tom Meagher. But it soon became a homicide investigation. Her disappearance attracted widespread media attention and a review of closed-circuit television images from the area of her disappearance. Her body was discovered six days later near Gisborne South, about 50 kilometres (31 miles) north from Brunswick.
Jill Meagher

Adrian Ernest Bayley pleaded guilty to Meagher's rape and murder in April 2013. He was sentenced to life imprisonment with a 35-year non-parole period. His bid to appeal his minimum term, in September 2013, was unsuccessful. In May 2015, Bayley was sentenced to another 18 years and his non-parole period was extended from 35 to 43 years for three other rape convictions. In July 2016, the sentence was reduced to 40 years, deducting three years of the term, making Bayley eligible for parole in 2055.

After work on 21 September 2012, Meagher went with co-workers from ABC Melbourne to the Brunswick Green bar on Sydney Road, Brunswick, later moving to Bar Etiquette (also in Sydney Road and now closed). She left the bar at around 1:30 am and began the short walk back to the home she shared with her husband.
While walking home Meagher called her brother, Michael McKeon, and spoke with him briefly about their father. At their flat her husband woke to realise she was not home and started searching for her. When she could not be found or contacted by phone, he contacted the police.
At about 2:30 pm on 27 September, police arrested Adrian Ernest Bayley, then 41, at his address in Coburg, and then questioned him at great length. It transpired that he had been the man in the blue hoodie. During the interrogation, Bayley ended up breaking down and admitting that he had strangled her with his hands in a lane off Hope Street, Brunswick. He had then buried her.
At around 10:00 pm on 27 September, Bayley led police to where Meagher's body was buried in a shallow grave on Black Hill Road near Gisborne South. She had been strangled after being raped. Bayley was charged with rape and murder at about 2:00 am on 28 September and, followed by an out-of-sessions hearing at 3:00 am that lasted for about 90 seconds, was held on remand to await trial. While in custody he attempted suicide.
Bayley's arrest and the finding and exhumation of Meagher's body generated considerable media and public response, especially when it was soon revealed that Bayley was already on parole for a series of sexual offences.

The court was told that Bayley had a history of violent sex attacks and had previously raped 21 times, the first time when he was 18 years old.

The court heard Bayley had told one of his rape victims: "Now you'll do what I want you to do, if you fight, I'll fight you back" and "I could dump you in the f***ing alley and no one would give a s***".

A last word from Jill Meaghers husband - Tom..

Murder victim's husband warns of porn's effects

A man whose Irish wife was brutally raped and murdered in Australia, says children as young as 12 should be taught in the classroom about sexual consent.
Serial rapist and killer Adrian Ernest Bayley, 44, is serving a life sentence for the rape and murder of Jill Meagher in 2012.
Last year he was convicted of three more rapes and sentenced to 18 years in jail but is now mounting a legal challenge that could result in an acquittal in two of the cases.
Her husband, Tom Meagher, who has spearheaded a campaign to highlight violence against women since her brutal death, believes the easy access to graphic and violent online pornography is ‘destroying’ young people’s emotional development and causing confusion over what is appropriate sexual behaviour.

"This whole problem is a societal issue and we can't keep brushing it under the carpet. The availability of online pornography - and the violence inherent in much of it - is quite damaging. The nature of some of what's out there is shocking.
"The typical man and woman role is exaggerated in a lot of porn. The dominance of the male and the submissive role of the female are paramount in a lot of what is on view.
"Studies also show that one of the top searches for internet pornography is now targeted at very young women in their teens." Tom Meagher 2016

61) Richard Bailey

A man who claimed a mother of two died accidentally during "rough sex" at his Birmingham flat has been found guilty of her murder.
Richard Bailey, 41, of Kingstanding, was found guilty of murdering Charlotte Teeling, 33, by an unanimous jury at Birmingham Crown Court.
Bailey strangled Ms Teeling five hours after they met for the first time after she left a nightclub on 23 February.

Bailey was remanded in custody to be sentenced at the court on Wednesday.

Bailey scattered pornography near the body of his victim after strangling her.
Ms Teeling, who had lived on the Isle of Wight and at a woman's refuge in Worcester, took a taxi with him to his flat at supported accommodation in Cooksey Lane. They had met in a shop at about 05:00 GMT.

Bailey had claimed she died accidentally during sex after asking to be choked. However, prosecutor Jonas Hankin QC told the jury her injuries suggested Bailey intended "at least to cause really serious harm".
The jury heard she had suffered injuries to her neck and mouth and a bone fracture near the base of her tongue.
Victim Charlotte Teeling

After killing Ms Teeling, Bailey used her bank card and travelled to Coventry, where he tried to "worm his way" back into the life of an ex-partner, the court heard.
West Midlands Police said he was arrested in Coventry after officers made the "gruesome discovery" of Ms Teeling's half-naked body on Bailey's bed four days after she was reported missing. Det Insp Jim Colclough said: "Bailey was a manipulative individual and I do not agree with any suggestion that this was a sex game that went wrong.
Mr Hankin said: "It is a disturbing feature of the case that some of the pornographic material placed on the floor was purchased after Charlotte's death."
[This pornographic material was placed near charlotte's body in order to 'legitimise' his statement that 'rough sex' occurred and additional evidence that 'women like to be choked during sex' ]

Bailey used Charlotte's mobile phone to search for pornography in the taxi they shared, after only just meeting her, and in the bedroom where he strangled and murdered her.

These were live updates from the court.

[Bailey said that he may of 'accidentally' had anal sex with Charlotte, he also stated that 'Anal porn' wasn't his cup of tea in his police statement]

Richard Bailey had 171 previous convictions and was on licence

He also had offences for assault and violence perpetrated against "women in vulnerable situations."

In 2002, Bailey was given a 54-month sentence for robbery, and was again jailed in 2006 for affray and common assault after grabbing a woman around the throat during an argument over drugs.
Later, in 2006, Bailey was given a 42-month sentence in Coventry after being classed as a "dangerous" offender for punching a woman who had already been knocked to the floor.
A court also jailed Bailey in August 2016 for two years and eight months for burglary and theft, meaning he was on licence at the time of Charlotte Teeling's murder.
Before Bailey was jailed for life, prosecutor Jonas Hankin QC, told the court: "There are several convictions for assault, as well as more serious offences of violence.
"All of the offences of violence were perpetrated against women, and in most cases women in vulnerable situations."

63) James Ray Ward

Jamie Ray Ward, 41, was sentenced to death in July 1991 in Walker County for killing a 23-year-old woman who was five months pregnant.
Investigators believe Mr. Ward was a serial rapist whose crimes escalated to murder on Aug. 17, 1989, when he abducted Nikia Gilbreath from her home.
Mr. Ward was arrested months later after he kidnapped and raped a woman in another county and police found items belong to Mrs. Gilbreath at his home. Mr. Ward's state appeal challenging the fairness of his trial has been pending since April 1993.
Nikia Gilbreath

The police found thousands of dollars worth of pornography magazines and women's lingerie at Ward's home, in which he meticulously labelled, indexed and rated the women that appeared in them.
64) Anthony Allen Shore

Anthony Allen Shore (born June 25, 1962) is a serial killer that is responsible for the slayings of four women. He operated from 1987 to 2000, and known as the "Tourniquet Killer" since he used a ligature with a either a toothbrush or bamboo stick to tighten or loosen the ligature to control them. The instrument was similar to a twitch, which is used by farmers to control horses. He was born in North Dakota.
Murders
Maria del Carmen Del Estrada
Maria Carmen Del Estrada was an illegal Mexican immigrant from the state of Guerrero who came to the United States to have a better life. She was a small, petite woman, standing at a height of 5 foot 1 inch and weighing 104 pounds. She was only twenty one years old, and worked as a nanny with her best friend, Rosa. On April 16, 1992, Carmen's half naked body was found in back of a Dairy Queen. She had been found sexually assaulted.

Diana Rebollar
Diana Rebollar, 9 years old, lived in the Heights area of Houston, at the front of a small duplex. One day, she headed out to the neighbourhood store to buy a bag of sugar. Employees of the store saw her leaving the store safely, but she never returned home. She was found the next day behind a house that was known to be occupied by the homeless. One lead for police was given by a neighbour who described a van that frequented the area. She was connected to the Carmen Del Estrada case by the killer's method of operation, since a tourniquet was used as the murder weapon. Diana was murdered two years after Carmen.
Dana Sanchez
Dana Sanchez was walking to her boyfriends house when Shore offered her a ride in his car. He made advances to her, but she told him that she had a boyfriend. She was never seen again. Seven days later an anonymous caller (Shore) led them to the highly decomposed body of Sanchez

Laurie Lee Tremblay

Shore's first known victim was 14-year-old Laurie Tremblay, who was killed on September 26, 1986. Tremblay was walking to school when she was attacked. After attempting to sexually assault her, Shore strangled Tremblay. Her body was dumped behind a Mexican restaurant in Houston

In 2000, detectives pulled Carmen Del Estrada's case from the cold files and tested DNA evidence from underneath Carmen's fingernails and received a full genetic profile. Carmen's case grew cold, and would remain in the cold files for eight years. The profile was upload to Texas's DNA database, which contains all the DNA profiles of sexual offenders. Shore's DNA was in the database from a previous conviction of molesting his two daughters for which he was offered a plea bargain that resulted in probation. His DNA matched the DNA underneath Carmen's fingernails and he was arrested for her murder.
Eleven hours into his interrogation, Shore confessed to the murders of Carmen Del Estrada, Diana Rebollar and Dana Sanchez. He also confessed to the 1987 murder of fourteen year old Laurie Tremblay and the 1994 rape of a fourteen year old girl. Laurie Tremblay was walking to school when she was killed and dumped behind a Mexican restaurant. Detectives had no way of linking this killing to the other three murders, since Laurie was strangled with a ligature. When asked why he switched to a tourniquet, Shore replied, "because I hurt my finger while murdering Tremblay".

Selma Janske

On October 19, 1993, Shore entered the home of 14-year-old Selma Janske, then bound and sexually assaulted her; however, he did not kill her, and instead fled the scene on foot.

[Trigger warning- actual images are of the victims being tortured, photographed by Berdella]

The Heinous Crimes Of Robert Berdella

Throughout each of his murders, Robert Berdella kept detailed notes and photos of his tortured and raped victims.

A quiet spring night in Kansas City’s historic Hyde Park in 1988 was shattered when a man – wearing nothing but a dog collar around his neck – leapt from a second story window of a Robert Berdella’s house where he was being held captive. He crashed to the ground and ran to a nearby meter maid, who called police.

Police secured a search warrant and proceeded to discover a cavalcade of horrors inside this unassuming house. Opening a second-story closet, they discovered a human skull, as well as human vertebrae, marked from where they had been cut with a bone saw.
In the backyard, they discovered another human head buried in the ground, partly decomposed.
When they ventured into the basement, they found large barrels stained with blood, as well as the personal belongings of two missing people and a stack of Polaroid photos depicting naked men being sexually assaulted and tortured.
They also found a stenographer’s pad meticulously detailing the abduction, torture, rape, and murder of six young men from around the area.
This house, 4315 Charlotte Street, belonged to the Kansas City Butcher, one of the most deranged serial killers in history, and the crimes he committed within those four walls are chilling to the bone.

Using the contacts he made through his extensive pen pal relationships from his lonely childhood, as well as his knowledge of art, Berdella opened a store called Bob’s Bizarre Bazaar, where he sold art, jewelry, and antiques from around the world.
Throughout the 1970s and early 80s, Berdella spent much of his time with male prostitutes, drug addicts, petty criminals, and runaways that he claimed to be mentoring. In reality, he was engaging in manipulative sexual relationships with the young men.
Berdella used his money and influence to create an imbalance of power in his relationships he would use to control these young runaways, many of whom had been prostitutes or had been sexually abused.

Then, in 1984, Berdella claimed his first victim: Jerry Howell.

Howell was the 19-year-old son of Paul Howell, one of Berdella’s acquaintances from his art dealing business. On July 5 that year, Berdella offered to drive the young Howell to a dance competition at a neighboring town.

On the way, Berdella plied the youth with alcohol and then drugged him with Valium and acepromazine. He tied Howell to his bed for 28 hours, during which he repeatedly drugged, tortured, raped, and violated the youth with foreign objects.
Ignoring his desperate pleas for Berdella to stop, he continued his torture until Howell finally asphyxiated from a combination of his gag, the drugs, and his own vomit.
After Howell died, Berdella butchered his body, leaving the corpse upside down overnight with cuts in major arteries to drain the blood, and then dismembering the body with a bone saw.
He then placed the pieces of the dismembered body in separate garbage bags along with assorted other trash and left them out on the curb for garbage men to take away.
Throughout this process, Berdella kept detailed notes of how he raped and tortured Howell on a stenographer’s pad, something he would continue to do for all his victims.

His next victim was one of the drifters that Berdella had taken care of and exploited for years, Robert Sheldon. The 23-year-old man arrived on Berdella’s doorstep on April 10, 1985, begging Berdella to let him stay there.

Berdella was not attracted to Sheldon, and though he did not rape him, he did restrain and torture him. With Sheldon, Berdella began his experiments on using chemicals to weaken his victims, leaving them helpless to his machinations.
He bound Sheldon’s wrists with piano wire in an attempt to permanently damage the nerves there, put drain cleaner in his eyes, and filled his ears with caulk.
He also placed needles under Sheldon’s fingernails.
When workmen were scheduled to come to Berdella’s house, he decided to suffocate Sheldon and dissected his corpse before disposing of it.

The following June, Berdella committed another brutal murder of one of his runaway acquaintances when he found Mark Wallace attempting to sleep in his shed. Berdella drugged Wallace and subjected him to high voltage electrical shocks and stuck hypodermic needles into his back.

Wallace died after a few days of this unrelenting torture, and his body was also dismembered and disposed of.
The next month, another of Berdella’s acquaintances contacted him wondering if he could stay at his house, Walter James Ferris. When Ferris arrived at Berdella’s house, he tied him to his bed and tortured him by shocking his genitals with 7,700-volts of electricity for two days until he died from the abuse.

The next year, Berdella ran into Todd Stoops, a former male prostitute who had stayed with Berdella in the past, at a nearby park. Berdella brought Stoops back to his place to his place to grab lunch.

There, Berdella drugged Stoops and kept him trapped in his house for weeks. He attempted to turn Stoops into a submissive sex slave, trying to incapacitate him through electrical shocks to the eyes, and by injecting drain cleaner into his larynx in an unsuccessful effort to render him mute, while repeatedly raping and sexually assaulting him.
Stoops eventually died of blood loss after his anal cavity was ruptured by Berdella’s fist.

In 1987, Berdella continued this attempt with 20-year-old Larry Wayne Pearson, an acquaintance he made while working at his shop. Berdella decided to kill him after Pearson jokingly referred to his practice of robbing gay men in Wichita.

He drugged Pearson and continued his torture practices aimed at incapacitating his victims, binding, electric shocking, and injecting drain cleaner into his larynx. He also broke one of Pearson’s hands with a metal bar.
After six weeks of rape and torture, Pearson finally snapped and bit deeply into Berdella’s penis during an act of forced fellatio.
Berdella then beat and strangled Pearson to death.

On March 29, 1988, Berdella abducted his last victim, a 22-year-old male prostitute named Christopher Bryson who he had solicited for sex.
Once he arrived at Berdella’s house, he knocked the prostitute unconscious with a metal bar and tied him up. Bryson was subjected to the same torture and abuse methods as Berdella’s previous victims.

But Bryson knew how to gain Berdella’s trust, eventually persuading Berdella to tie his hands in front of him, rather than to the bed. Then, when Berdella accidentally left a box of matches in the room, Bryson grabbed them and burned through his ropes, leading to his dramatic escape through the window.

After collecting evidence from the house and questioning the suspected killer, Berdella was quickly arrested and charged with the murders of six men.
Berdella accepted a deal where he plead guilty and revealed everything about the vile murders in exchange for life without parole, avoiding the death penalty.
He died of a heart attack while incarcerated at the Missouri State Penitentiary on Oct. 8, 1992, at the age of 43.

Berdella not only had hard-core pornography magazines in his possession, but made his own sadistic pornography of these unfortunate victims.

Hanna Pearson was choked to death by a man who recreated a strangling scene he had watched on a pornographic DVD. (I believe that he watched more than 'one')
Hannah Pearson, 16, was plied with alcohol by James Morton - a former McDonald's worker and friend of her boyfriend - before "guiding" her to his bedroom, where he throttled her, a court heard as the killer was jailed for 12 yearsAfter Miss Pearson stopped breathing, Morton dialled 999 and the schoolgirl was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Morton admitted putting Miss Pearson in bed and climbing in alongside her before choking her. He said he had previously tried strangling another partner and was "curious" after "seeing it on a film". He was cleared of murder, but found guilty of manslaughter following a two-week trial at Nottingham Crown Court.
Hannah Pearson
The 24-year-old had said the part-time waitress's death took place accidentally as part of a sex game gone wrong, claiming she had kissed him first. However, a judge told Morton that Miss Pearson, who had been head captain of her school, was "intoxicated... and no position to object, trapped underneath you whilst you strangled her" The court heard Miss Pearson might have been unconscious through drink when Morton, who was a foot taller than his 5'3" victim and six stones heavier, struck. On the day she died, July 23 last year, Miss Pearson had met her boyfriend, Jed Hope, in a pub in Lincoln to celebrate Mr Hope's 19th birthday. Morton, described in court as a close friend of Mr Hope, was already at the pub when Miss Pearson, who lived in the village of Marston, Lincolnshire, arrived. It was the first time she had met her killer. The trio drank in the pub and bought more alcohol at a convenience store before Morton, whose parents were away, invited the couple to his house in Newark, Nottinghamshire. Mr Hope said he could not afford the train fare and was not allowed overnight visitors at his home so Miss Pearson, who had told her parents she would be staying over at a friend's house, decided to go alone with the intention her boyfriend would join them there early the next morning. Mr Hope told the court how he asked Morton to keep Hannah, who worked for restaurant chain Pizza Express, safe as he kissed her goodbye at the station. However, once she was at his home, Morton gave her wine, beer and port then - according to the account he gave in the witness box - put her into bed and got in alongside her.

This is yet another case of 'sex gone wrong' in which sentences are reduced to manslaughter. Morton should of been found guilty of murder, because he had malice aforethought. He was aroused and incited by the strangulation of women in pornography, had attempted to strangle an ex-girlfriend, plied this sixteen year old girl with alcohol and manually strangled her, in-which severe injury would of resulted or death would occur (which takes approximately four-seven minutes).  Even if this young woman was highly intoxicated, she would of fought and struggled, also her facial expressions would of been physically alarming, therefore if it had been a case of 'consensual strangulation' the 'strangler' would of known these facts and stopped well before any risk of severe injury or death.

In 2011, Bradley Barton made a 911 call from a hotel room on Edmonton’s west end.Barton had woken up to a horrific scene — the suite’s bathroom was covered in blood and Cindy Gladue, a 36-year-old sex worker who Barton had spent the night with, was lying dead in the bathtub. On his first night at the hotel, Barton met up with Gladue and the two went up to the room for sex. Closed circuit video from the hotel shows the two walking hand-in-hand after leaving the hotel room an hour later and exchanging phone numbers.

They met up again the next night. After sharing a beer in the hotel bar shortly before 1 a.m., the two went back to Barton’s room. Later that morning, Gladue would be dead. The Crown prosecutor argues that Barton intentionally killed Gladue, stabbing her in the vagina with a knife and allowing her to bleed to death.  But Bottos said his client didn’t mean to harm Gladue, and that the wound was caused accidentally by Barton’s hand during rough sex. Barton went to sleep, his lawyer argued, unaware that a woman was bleeding to death in the next room.
In 2015, a jury found Bradley Barton not guilty of first-degree murder in the death of Cindy Gladue. The 36-year-old woman was found dead in a bathtub in an Edmonton motel room four years earlier.
Thursday's decision means Canada's Supreme Court will review the order for a new trial. There was anger from coast to coast in 2015 when the Edmonton Court of Queen's Bench jury found Barton not guilty in Gladue's death. Public outrage led to a series of rallies and a petition with more than 4,500 signatures demanding Alberta's justice minister appeal the jury's verdict. Gladue, a mother of three, was found dead at the Yellowhead Inn in June 2011. She died from blood loss from a perforation more than 11 centimetres long that went completely through her vaginal wall. During Barton's first-degree murder trial, the jury was told she was a sex worker who lost her life after agreeing to have sex with the accused in exchange for $60. The Crown's theory was that Gladue was incapacitated by alcohol when Barton used a sharp object to cut her vaginal wall, then moved her to the bathtub when she began bleeding heavily. The defence contended that while Barton caused Gladue's fatal injury, it was a non-culpable act of homicide. Barton testified the injury was an "accident" from consensual sexual activity. The Alberta Court of Appeal overturned the not-guilty ruling and ordered a new first-degree murder trial in the case last June.

EDMONTON – The jury that recently acquitted an Ontario man of killing a woman in an Edmonton hotel were not told the accused was alleged to have a history of viewing pornography that depicted the torture of women.
On March 18, a jury acquitted Brad Barton of first-degree murder in the death of sex worker Cindy Gladue after she died of blood loss in a Yellowhead Inn bathtub in June 2011. An 11-centimetre wound inside Gladue’s vagina caused her death.
At trial, Barton, 46, testified the injury was inadvertently caused during consensual sex when he inserted four fingers into Gladue. The prosecution’s theory was that Barton purposely caused the wound with a sharp object or used enough force with his hand to go beyond Gladue’s consent. Court heard conflicting testimony from experts about whether the wound was a blunt tear or a sharp cut.
The jury did not hear that a laptop computer found with Barton’s belongings showed an Internet history that included violent pornography.

“We know, at this point, the inference should be that he accessed websites involving … insertion of foreign objects into the vagina,” Crown prosecutor Carole Godfrey said at Barton’s preliminary hearing in 2012. “And on at least one occasion, the issue of torture of women.”
Provincial court Judge Ferne LeReverend called the websites “disturbing pornography” that included “extreme penetration and torture.”In a report, an Edmonton police forensics investigator wrote that the websites “in many cases depict women being tortured.” That evidence was never introduced at Barton’s trial because prosecutors and Barton’s defence lawyer agreed it should not be admissible. Evidence from Barton’s preliminary hearing was under a publication ban until his trial ended, when the Journal obtained a transcript.

Supreme Court will hear appeal of new trial decision in Cindy Gladue murder case

Taylor Marie Behl was a 17-year-old college freshman from Vienna, Virginia. She moved to Richmond, Virginia, in August 2005 to attend Virginia Commonwealth University. About two weeks later on Labor Day, September 5, 2005, Behl disappeared.

Taylor Behl

In the early morning hours of Saturday, September 17, 2005, Behl's car was found in a residential neighborhood about a mile and a half from the VCU Campus.
Numerous search warrants were executed, including Behl's mother's home in Vienna, Virginia, and Behl's VCU Gladding Residence Center dorm room. Those questioned by police at this phase of the investigation included "Jake," a VCU student and former boyfriend of Behl with whom she had dinner after she returned to Richmond on September 5, and another unnamed friend of Schultz and Behl, whose car was impounded for forensic tests because police believed that Behl might have been in his car before her disappearance. The Richmond Times-Dispatch reported that this "friend in common" refused a polygraph test.
Another of the last individuals to have seen Behl alive was Benjamin Fawley, a 38-year-old amateur photographer and self-described "Goth/skater from the 1980s." Investigators focused on Fawley as they began to uncover his and Behl's relationship. Fawley's attorney, Chris Collins, confirmed that Fawley "is a suspect and should be a suspect because he knew her." Police began to become more suspicious when Fawley's alibi did not hold up, and executed a search warrant issued by Richmond Circuit Court Judge Beverly W. Snukals on Fawley for offenses "substantially described as...taking indecent liberties with children attempted" and "contributing to the delinquency of a minor." Police were looking for, among other things, "women's clothing," Behl's Nokia camera phone, "Taylor Behl's key ring," her money, and "burglary tools." As a result of the search, Fawley was arrested that day, Friday, September 23, 2005, and charged with 16 counts of child abuse imagery.
On Wednesday, October 12, 2005, Fawley, against his attorney's advice, spoke to police investigators. Fawley reportedly admitted to being with Behl the night of September 5 and into the early morning hours of September 6, 2005. He allegedly said that Behl died accidentally during a consensual sex act (likely erotic asphyxiation) with him in her car at Mathews County, Virginia. He claimed he then panicked and dumped her unburied body in a shallow ravine.
A surveillance video showed Behl and Fawley entering the VCU Gladding Residence Center together at 10:18 p.m. and Fawley waiting for Behl in the dorm's lobby while she went to her dorm room. The video's final frames show Behl and Fawley leaving the dorm together.

In the interview below, 38 year old Ben Fawley stated that 17 year old Taylor Behl demanded that he bind her wrists, act like he kidnapped her and place a plastic bag over her head during consensual sex. If he didn't comply, then she would tell everyone that he had raped her. He also says that he had never heard of 'Erotic asphyxiation' before, yet police searched his seven computers and found him to be an enthusiastic user of BDSM and fetish websites. He also had thousands of images of women gagged and bound. He also stated that he was 'drunk' and high on 'drugs' and can't remember what happened after they 'had sex'.

Ben Fawley was also violent to his ex girlfriends and had a record for intimate partner abuse.

In an interview with one of Ben Fawley's ex girlfriends, she stated that the night that he broke into her apartment armed with mace spray and a hammer, was terrifying and immediately broke up with him.
